Dear Colleagues,
On behalf of the Ethics Committee, we would like to let you know that the ACRO Board of Chancellors has approved a written set of Professional Standards for the College.
Historically our Bylaws have entrusted the Ethics Committee with the responsibility of adjudicating any violation of Professional Standards that may arise as a consequence of the behavior of our members. As we strive to advance the profession and elevate our reputation, we feel it is important for our members and the general public to be aware of the specific standards we expect of ourselves.
Please take a moment to review the documents linked below. We have articulated standards for both the general membership as well for those that hold positions of leadership within the College.
The Ethics Committee welcomes your comments as we anticipate these will evolve with our profession over time.
As articulated in the Bylaws, members of the College are welcome to submit concerns about potential violations of the Professional or Ethical Standards to the Ethics Committee for review. That review must be initiated with a letter addressing those concerns forwarded to the Chair of the Ethics Committee. The Committee will be guided by the Bylaws regarding the manner in which those concerns are addressed in order to ensure due process and that the rights of all members are respected and protected.
Thank you,
Dominique Rash, MD, FACRO
