ACRO Media Awards - Excellence in Radiation Oncology Reporting

 

The American College of Radiation Oncology annually recognizes excellence in reporting on radiation oncology news in the United States.

The ACRO Excellence in Radiation Oncology Media Awards was launched by the College in 2023 to recognize outstanding and accurate reporting of radiation oncology news in broadcast, print, podcasting, and other media .

Winners of this year's awards program will be recognized at the ACRO Annual Meeting in February 2026 at Disney Dolphin Resort, FL.

Guidelines:

Journalists working for a print (newspaper, magazine) or broadcast (TV, radio) organization, podcasters, and other media content producers (Ted Talks, etc.) based in the United States qualify to apply. Awards may be given to one or multiple submissions.

To be considered, the story must have aired or published on or after November 1, 2024 and before October 1, 2025 This year's entry period runs from August 1-October 1, 2025.

Submissions will be judged by a panel of physicians based on the following criteria:

  • Accurate reporting of news, issues, procedures related radiation oncology
  • Clear and accurate use of medical terminology and/or technical data
  • Innovative and original storytelling and style
