ACRO Accreditation Seeks Director of Physics

ACRO Accreditation is seeking qualified candidates for the open position of Director of Physics. This appointment is an excellent opportunity to help shape the future of the ACRO Accreditation program and help promote quality radiation therapy for patients across the country. The time commitment is approximately 20 hours per month but varies based on the needs of the accreditation program. These include but are not limited to volume of currently accredited practices and contributions to special projects such as partnerships, manual updates, and surveyor training. 



Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the physics pillar of the ACRO Accreditation Program 
  • Lead ACRO Accreditation Physics Committee 
  • Review/establish standards for evaluation of accrediting practices 
  • Develop and update survey checklists and other materials for accrediting practices 
  • Oversee and train physics surveyors 



Attend weekly accreditation management meetings 

  • Attend quarterly standards committee meetings 
  • Perform periodic accreditation surveys (compensated) 



Qualifications

  • 10+ years post training clinical practice 
  • Leadership experience 
  • Accreditation experience preferred but not required 

 

Compensation

  • Honorarium of $16,000 per year 
  • Complimentary ACRO membership (does not apply to memberships for current ACRO fellows, or memberships for those working towards fellowship)
