The American College of Radiation Oncology (ACRO) continues to advocate on your behalf to protect radiation oncology and preserve patient access to high-quality cancer care. Over the past year, our advocacy efforts have focused on the issues that matter most to your practice and your patients, including physician payment, reimbursement policy, payer oversight, and workforce sustainability.

Our 2025-26 ACRO Advocacy Report details the efforts of your ACRO Government Relations & Economics Committee, but we wanted to share a few of the highlights:

  • Pushed back against physician payment cuts and supported a 2.5% increase for 2026
  • Engaged CMS and Congress on sustainable reimbursement methodology
  • Advocated for policies that support workforce stability and long-term access to care
  • Worked to protect independent, freestanding, and rural practices from harmful reimbursement changes
